Sylvia Amann holds a degree from the Vienna University of Economics and Business and Sorbonne University in Paris. She completed her education with postgraduate studies at the Institute for Communication Science in Vienna. Sylvia Amann works as an expert for national ministries, regional authorities and European institutions and networks on integration of culture and creative potential in EU funding programmes (especially EU Structural Funds and Programmes for rural development). She is a researcher and consultant specialised in strategic planning for the creative industries and was responsible for related mapping and benchmarking activities for several European regions and cities. Ms. Amann is also a policy adviser developing local and regional creative policies. She designs and moderates international and interregional conferences on creative and cultural issues related to urban and regional development. She worked on EU culture policy since 1995, first on regional level and later as project manager at Culture Action Europe in Brussels. In 2000, she founded her consulting company inforelais. She is part of several networks like the Advisory Borad Cultural Development Plan Linz, the Export network of the arge creativwirtschaft Austria and the Central European Cultural Cooperation( EEIG).
